At Clarke University, students study more than facts and theories; they explore new ways of thinking. Everything we do is student-focused. For faculty and staff, this means more than just coming to work every day - it means truly collaborating across the university to put student success first. It also means living and working in Dubuque, a thriving city named one of the "most livable" cities and "Best Green Places" in the country.

The Department of Science and Mathematics invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Math, beginning August 2022. The successful applicant will be hired on a three-year renewable contract with the possibility of transitioning to a tenure-track contract at a later date. We seek a generalist to teach geometry, probability, and other introductory level courses. Outstanding candidates in all areas of math will be considered. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related discipline is preferred; however, candidates who are ABD will also be considered. The teaching load is four courses, or 12 credits, per semester. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience employing student-centered learning strategies. Although Clarke University heavily prioritizes teaching in the liberal arts tradition, evidence of professional activity and service are also desired. The successful candidate will participate in department and university activities.

To apply, please upload the following documents at http://clarke.applicantpool.com: letter of interest, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, and unofficial transcripts. Three confidential letters of recommendation should be sent to HRLetters@clarke.edu. Applications will be reviewed immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Clarke University is committed to fostering a welcoming campus community that celebrates the unique contributions of each person and promotes an inclusive learning environment. Clarke University does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.
